Kenyan tech savvy chief in NY for Samsung Galaxy event Nakuru based chief, Francis Kariuki, is currently in New York courtesy of Samsung.
The tech savvy chief, known for his peculiar tweeting habits using the handle @Chiefkariuki, will give a presentation during a Samsung Galaxy event.
Just this month, the chief received a brand new Galaxy Mega from Samsung Kenya.

Chief Kariuki mainly tweets about minor crimes, eg theft of cows. He also informs the public on important government meetings in his area of jurisdiction.

NAIROBI, Kenya, Oct 22 โ€“ The Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) General Julius Karangi insists that Kenyaโ€™s military officers did not loot during the Westgate mall four-day siege.

Gen Karangi told the joint committees on National Security and Defence of the National Assembly that the soldiers only โ€œpicked water from the Nakumatt store to quench their thirst.โ€

The military chief who was accompanied by Defence Secretary Raychelle Omamo said that โ€œthe officers took water with authority from their commanders.โ€

The Chief of Defence Forces was appearing before the committee only days after Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) footage made public showed KDF officers entering the Nakumatt store and later walking out each carrying paper bags.

More footage showed KDF officers ransacking safes in jewellery stores at the mall but General Karangi said they were undertaking a procedure he termed as โ€œsanitization to ensure their safety.โ€
