Nairobi, Kenya: High court has dismissed an application by ODM to be enjoined in case where Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero is seeking to block Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) from charging him with assault.
Justice David Majanja, in his ruling said the party had not given sufficient reason that would warrant its enjoinment. He also said that enjoining the party will unnecessarily prolong the issue before the court.
The court consolidated Kideroโs petition with another one by Nairobi Women Representative Rachael Shebesh also seeking to cushion her against possible prosecution on charges of causing disturbance.
Kidero and Shebesh are embroiled in a legal tussle following claims that the governor slapped Shebesh during a demonstration she led into his office last year.
