We would like to appeal to all our readers to help Maureen Wanjiku Kimani, a young Kenyan girl travel to the United States for specialized plastic surgery.
Maureen, who is now 17 years old, got burned when she was one year old.
She underwent plastic surgery at Kijabe Mission Hospital until she turned five years old but discontinued without completing all the needed proceduresย due to lack of money.
With the help of concerned friends, a hospital in North Carolina has offered to perform the surgery on Maureen for free.
The doctors in Chapel Hill North Carolina will provide free service for reconstructive surgery for six months.
The only obstacles now are the two air tickets to enable Maureen and her sister Wairimu Maina travel from Nairobi to North Carolina. Wairimu will be taking care of Maureen during the treatment.
A family in North Carolina has already offered to accommodate Maureen and Wairimu.
