A commissioner with ODM’s National Elections Board is on the spot for allegedly receiving hefty bribes from various candidates eying the party’s ticket next year. The official is said to have pocketed thousands of shillings in previous elections to declare losers as winners of party primaries. The official is now in panic after the party’s NEC approved the board’s reconstitution ahead of nominations for 2017 aspirants, following complaints. Some NEC members are reported to be ignoring his calls after his fate was sealed.

Is Narok Governor Samuel Tunai under siege? Corridors has learnt that plans to oust him are as good as complete. Our mole from the county has informed us that former Heritage minister William ole Ntimama, a veteran former politician, is in the kitchen cooking a “flavoured stew” for Narok come next year. He is said to be grooming Narok West MP Patrick Ntutu for governor and Emurua Dikir MP Johana Ngeno as deputy governor. Last week, the two held an endorsement meeting in Ntutu’s home, and campaigns have begun silently. Emissaries have also been sent to former PS John Konchellah, who enjoys massive following in the county, to take up the senatorial seat to balance the equation to remove Tunai from power. Current Senator Stephen Ntutu has opted to retire since his brother will be the man calling the shots in Narok governance.

A Cabinet Secretary who was moved in the recent reshuffle was overheard complaining that the media has not been fair to them. The CS compared the media’s coverage of their activities at the ministry to the new CS, saying journalists were previously disinterested. The CS said the media appears to be focusing on CSs who were politicians before, ignoring those who have never been in politics.

On Monday, Corridors carried an item questioning why the government sent Interior CS Joseph Nkaissery and PS Karanja Kibicho to Jordan to procure police equipment. The Interior ministry has complained that the item insinuated that the two officials are not competent enough to carry out their mandate. The ministry also said the CS is a former military general and understands the kind of equipment the country’s security personnel need. The ministry also said the CS’s trip to Jordan was not involved in any way in the purchase of the equipment, but he was attending a security meeting. Corridors would like to clarify that the item was never intended to insinuate improper motive on the person of the CS or the PS and apologises for any embarrassment resulting from the wording of the piece.
