Popular TV host Jeff Koinange on Wednesday night out-witted bloodthirsty online attackers who were out campaigning for Kenyans to stop viewing his show,ย Jeff Koinange Live (JKL).
A hashtag,ย #BoycottJKL was initiated a few hours before the show in which Mr Koinange was set to host Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC)ย chairman Issack Hassan.
As many joined the trend championed by bloggers who claimed thatย the renowned journalist would not be objective during the interview, Koinange presumably acted in accordance to the famous adage โ If you can’t beat them, join them.
He cleverly dropped his previous hashtag #ontheropes and propelled the show on social media withย #BoycottJKL.
In aย move apparently initiated to mock the bloggers, Koinange walked out of his own program to show that he had ‘boycotted’ JKL.
However, a section of the public faulted the show host for always hosting personalities involved in corrupt dealings with some mentioning Ben Gethiย a suspect inย the National Youth Service (NYS) scandal whoย Koinange also allowedย on his bench.
Hey Bel Akinyi, RELAX…..I say give a man a rope long enough……..Watch and then
Those saying we should #BoyCottJKL should also boycott rallies where institutions and officers are demonized without evidence.
They fired at @KoinangeJeff with this gun of #BoycottJKL and he answered back with the same gun to finish the enemies of#jkl . Brilliant
Who started this #BoyCottJKL nonsense?? Everybody has a right to defend themselves and @KoinangeJeff can host whoever he wants.
@LeonLidigu @KoinangeJeff as he said before. You have the right to use your remote. Ama thy go watch househelps of kawangware.
