Wiperย leader and CORD co-principal Kalonzo Musyokaย on Friday reportedlyย heldย a private meeting with Nairobi governor Evans Kidero.
The two leaders are said to have met at Mr Musyoka’s Karen home within the cityย to discuss on ways of strengthening the coalition in preparation for the 2017 General Election.
According to sources privy to the meeting, the two who wereย also joined byย Deputy Governor Jonathan Mueke delved on ways of ensuring that CORD clinches majority of seat within the county.
โThey want to ensure CORDย sweeps Nairobi from the governor to parliamentary and civic seats,โ an assistant toย one of the leaders was quoted.
To prevent any fallout, Kidero and Kalonzo also discussed on how the opposition would conduct free and fair nomination for all electives positions in the Capital.
โThey also talked about ways of conducting effective campaigns across the capital city as a coalition rather than as individual parties. They are leaving nothing to chance,โ the Nation reports.
The meeting comes amid rising political temperatures with the main parties to CORD coalition declaring their stand regarding the coming election.
In the recent past, both the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) and Wiper haveย endorsed their own party leaders as frontrunners for the presidential post.
It now await to be seen the format the Coalition will adopt to have a single flag bearer take on President Uhuru Kenyatta as the 2017 polls beckon.
