Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama has dismissed reports pointing at a possible fallout between him and Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka.
Speaking during a rally in the County, Muthama accused outsiders and his Jubilee rivals of propagating rumours and making it appear like he had a feud with Musyoka.
He said that competitors were trying hard to create boundaries between the two opposition heavyweights, a plan he said would not be successful.
โA few days ago they tried to say that Kalonzo lectured Muthama. I want to tell that they tried to separate us but that will never happen,โ he assured.
The vocal leader declared that he was ready to defend his Party leader at all cost, adding that the perceived political differences were exaggerated in an attempt to divide the party.
On his part, Musyoka claimed that the media was propagating a falsehood and misquoting his statements to report that Muthama was frustrating his presidential bid.
โThat was completely your own concoction. I didnโt mean that he is undermining me or working with Orengo. I have never seen that kind of fabrication. It was alarming and I donโt have a problem with my friend Muthama,โ the Wiper Party leader during an interview.
Drama started after Muthama walked out on Musyoka during a meet-the-people tour of Taita Taveta region a week ago with reports indicating that the Senator was on his way out of Wiper.
It later emerged that CORD leader Raila Odinga had a private session with Senator Muthama to contain any possible rift that would consequently hurt the Coalition at large.
