KANU Sec-Gen Nick Salat Appointed To Powerful Position
President Uhuru Kenyatta on Friday, August 7, appointed KANU Secretary General Nick Salat to be the Chairperson of the Board of the Agricultural Development Corporation.
Through gazette notice, the president stated that Salat would take up the position for one year.
“Inย exercise of the powers conferred by section 7(3) of the State Corporations Act, I, Uhuru Kenyatta, President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces, appointย Nicholas Kiptoo Arap Korirย Salat to be the chairperson of the Board of the Agricultural Development Corporation, up toย June 5, 2021, with effect from the August 7, 2020,” read the statement.
He added that the appointment of Benjamin Cheboi, who previously served in the same position, had been revoked.
At the same time, the head of state revoked the appointment of Salat as the Chairman of the Board of the Postal Corporation of Kenya effective August 7, 2020.
Additionally, the president appointed John Ngumi to be the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Industrial and Commercial Development Corporation (ICDC).
His appointment would take effect from August 7, 2020 to May 2, 2022.The president revoked the appointment of Bernard Muteti, who previously held the position.
The president also appointed new members at theย Agricultural Development Corporation with effect from August 7, 2020 to June 5, 2021.
The members included;ย Zephaniah Kipsang Yego, Edwin K. Kamar, Ephantus Murage Mundia, Lydia Naneu, Ntimama Masikonte, Richard Ngomo, Hon. David Kareithi and Jemutai Barkebo (Eng.)
Simultaneously, the appointment of Gladys Kasia Ngao (Dr.), John Owuor Onyango KโObado (Eng.), Hassan Osman, Martin Ogindo, Paul Kibet Chebor, Roba Sharu Duba and Peter Chemuigut was revoked.
