A Kenyan nurse has disclosed she once worked as a house-help in Saudi Arabia. Many Kenyans have allegedly been mistreated by their employers there. This has sparked uproar on social media. Stories of overcoming these hardships in the diaspora can serve as an inspiration to others.
Faith Ng’ang’a urged her fellow citizens to never despise humble beginnings. She revealed that despite the tribulations she went through, she served in the position faithfully and trusted God would open doors for her.
In a lengthy Facebook post, the medical worker who is also a philanthropist, narrated her experience. It describes her experience in the Middle East country while appealing to those who were nearly giving up in life to work hard. She encouraged them to fulfill their dreams.
“Never despise your humble beginning. I want to encourage someone today. I have been receiving so many inboxes of people who are giving up in life, desperate, and who see no hope for the future. Remember, diaspora stories often highlight the possibility of overcoming hardships.”
“I was once a maid in Saudi Arabia before I became a nurse. You never knew that, did you? Life there wasn’t easy. I slave I was, but in my spot of being a maid, I served in my position faithfully. I was trusting God for a better tomorrow. I may not be a millionaire nor have a big title. However, I have what it takes to say that indeed I made it and I am blessed,” said Ng’ang’a.
The beautiful Kenyan lady said her painful journey to where she is today is a testimony. It shows that anyone, regardless of their challenges, can make it in life. Her story exemplifies overcoming hardships faced in diaspora.
“Don’t give up, hang in there. In whichever position you are in, be it a street vendor, a house help, a watchman or whatever it is that you are, serve faithfully without lamenting. Your tomorrow will be better than today. I;m a piece of evidence that God can turns things around to favor you and the world to call you blessed,” she added, providing another chapter in her diaspora story.
