Court orders Raila to pay Miguna half salary

The High Court has ordered the office of the Prime Minister to pay suspended former advisor Miguna Miguna half salary for September and October.

High Court judge Mohammed Warsame made the orders after Miguna Miguna’s lawyer Nelson Havi informed the court that his client had not been paid since his suspension in August.

He was suspended as Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s advisor on coalition affairs on August 4th by Permanent Secretary in the PM’s office Mohammed Isahakia over alleged gross misconduct.

The allegations included harassment, intimidation and use of abusive language to colleagues and misrepresenting the Office of the Prime Minister.

Miguna moved to court a week after his suspension where he accused Isahakia and former Attorney General Amos Wako of breaching his constitutional rights.

He argued that the decision to block his salary was illegal, unprocedural and unfair asking the court to restrain the two from enforcing the decision pending determination of his case.
