A Kenyan man passes away in Reston Virginia
It is with deep profound sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the elevation to Glory of Mr. Solomon K. Murugu which occurred on Wednesday, February 15th at Reston Hospital in Reston, Virginia following an illness that was bravely borne.
He was the loving husband to Emily Murugu (VA, USA) and father of Kathleen Murugu (VA, USA), Jane-Anne โSweetieโ Murugu (MD, USA), June-Carolyne Sasu (MD, USA), Yvonne-Fleur Murugu (VA, USA), Andrew Murugu (Meru, Kenya), Fredah Mputhia (Nairobi, Kenya) Juliette Murugu (Nairobi, Kenya) and Edith Murugu (Nairobi, Kenya) and proud grandfather to 17 grandchildren
He was the beloved uncle to Raphael Rutere (NJ, USA), Geoffrey Mworia (NJ, USA), Alice Rutere (NJ, USA) and John Rutere (CT, USA), Frank Murungi (MA, US), Liza Kibe (MA, US), Betty Mworia (Canada), Jackson Thiuru (KS, USA) and several others across the world.

Prayers and meeting of friends and family will be held at Kathleen Muruguโs House located at 12805 Old Club Lane, Reston, Virginia 20191 starting Sunday February 19th at 3pm and daily at 7pm thereafter. Donations will be greatly appreciated to help the family defray the cost of sending his body to his final resting place in Kenya. The memorial service will be at McGuire Funeral Home (7400 Georgia Avenue, Washington D.C., 20012) on Saturday February 25th, 2012 at 11am and will be preceded by the viewing at 10am.
