A Kenyan woman dies in head-on car accident in New Jersey

EAST BRUNSWICK — Jane Karuga, 47, of Sayreville died Tuesday night in a two-car accident on Cranbury Road, near the South Brunswick border, East Brunswick Detective Sgt. Kevin Zebro said.

The accident occurred at about 10:50 p.m., when Karuga’s 1997 Nissan Sentra crossed the double yellow line going south on Cranbury Road, just prior to the intersection with Davidson Mill Road, said Zebro.
Karuga’s car collided head-on with a 2001 Dodge Ram, driven by Warren J. Himich, 57, of Bethel Park, Pa., who was traveling in the northbound lane, Zebro said.
Karuga was pronounced dead at the scene. Himlich was transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick with nonlife-threatening injuries.
The circumstances surrounding the collision are being investigated.
