Tuesday September 4, 2012 – Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka received a major Boost on Monday, after former government spokesman Alfred Mutua joined his Wiper Democratic Movement (WDM).
Dr Mutua who has held the position for about 8 years, resigned on Tuesday to campaign for the Machakos County Governor’s seat.
“I had a very interesting eight years of service. I have gained enough experience,” Mutua said.
Speaking at his office, when welcoming Dr Mutua to Wiper Party, the VP urged Mutua to use his skills in popularising and building WDM.
“I want to welcome you to the party. I would also like to invite others who would be resigning from their government positions,” Kalonzo said.
Meanwhile, during his resignation on Monday, Mutua told journalists that he is writing a political memoir to narrate his turbulent times when he was the government spokesman.
“As I leave office, I have learned a lot and have kept a lot of notes. I am currently working on a book, “Shooting the Messenger.” I will however not be peeling any masks but will reveal the truth about what has been happening in Kenya.” Mutua said.
