Sunday November 18, 2012 – Energy Minister Kiraitu Murungi is set to dump his Alliance Party of Kenya (APK) for Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s bandwagon the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), DAILY POST has established.
According to a credible source close to the Minister, talks are at an advanced stage between APK party leader and ODM party leader Raila Amolo Odinga.
Last week, Kiraitu parted ways with Deputy Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta‘s The National Alliance (TNA) claiming that he has been embarrassed and humiliated by the TNA top officials.
Although, he said he will support Uhuru Kenyatta’s Presidential quest, insiders say that this was only a “political gesture” and he has been convinced by his Imenti Central MP Gitobu Imanyara to join ODM.
Raila, Kiraitu, Imanyara and Orengo were heroes of the second liberation and it will be a big boost for Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s Presidential bid if Kiraitu joins the Orange party.
