Monday December 10, 2012 – Two Ministers associated with Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) have denied media reports that they are on the verge of dumping the Orange Party for William Ruto’s United Republic Party (URP).
Roads Minister Franklin Bett and Energy Assistant Minister Magerer Langat said those who are waiting for them to ditch ODM would wait until Christ comes back before they make such a move.
“We will stay in the ODM until Jesus Christ comes back” Bett said
“I have nothing to say to these people except that there is no valid reason to warrant our defection from ODM. I am okay where I am,” Bett added.
The media last week was awash with the reports that the two were planning to ditch the party when they failed to show up at KICC in Nairobi where the ODM leader Prime Minister Raila Odinga signed a pre- election alliance deal with Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka of the Wiper Democratic Movement party.
