Kenyan duo on trial in Denmark

Former AFC Leopards SC striker Sebastian Muchera and former KCB winger Maurice Odhiambo left the country on Sunday night for Denmark where they are scheduled to attend trials with several clubs.

The duo featured for Division One Zone B side Nakuru AllStars FC and the latest development has been confirmed by the team’s Chief Executive Officer, Robert Muthomi.

“Muchera and Maurice left Kenya on Sunday and have landed safely in Denmark today (Monday),” Muthomi said.

“They’ll be in Denmark for a maximum of 30 days and we’ve lined up a number of clubs for them to try out. They start the trials on Tuesday 5 February.

“They are both very good players and had a great season so I’m confident that they are still on form and I’m sure they’ll impress in the trials,” Muthomi added.

Both players have had stints in Europe. Muchera featured for Belgian third-tier side CS Vise in the 2008 season, while Odhiambo was in the Czech Republic on lengthy trials with top-tier side Banik Most, then known as Siad Most.

Muchera has also been capped several times by the senior national team under coach Jacob ‘Ghost’ Mulee, while Odhiambo has played for all Junior national sides, U17, U20 and U23.
