The body of a 21 year old Kenyan man from Tacoma,Washington was recovered Monday morning from the shores of the Long Beach Peninsula, approximately one mile from where he had been reported missing.
According to credible sources, Morgan Njoroge and a group of about 10 Kenyans aged between 19 and 24yrs old left Tacoma on Saturday morning for what was to be a fun filled getaway at the Long Beach – a popular destination on the peninsula off the ocean shores of the pacific ocean some three hours away from Seattle, Washington and two hours away from Portland, Oregon.
Reports indicate that late Sunday evening approximately 7pm, the group was reveling at the beach with the men swimming in the waters while the girls basked on the beach when they noticed that Morgan had gone under a wave but had not resurfaced. The panicked group then raised the alarm, which triggered an intensive search led by the police, the Coast Guard and rescue volunteers.
With the tides getting higher and stronger, the now four hour long search by police divers and a Coast Guard helicopter rescue team was suspended until past 3 am when the search resumed. Morgan’s lifeless body was recovered shortly after 5 am Monday Morning and the remains moved to the County Morgue for a post mortem.
