“You continue to be heroic in many amazing and heartening ways. As a nation, we speak as one on this. You can see here former Prime Minister Raila Odinga and other national leaders … in and outside Government,” said Uhuru adding that Kenya is a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural society and our diversity is also Kenya’s strength.

The President urged Kenyans to continue waging a relentless moral war as forces conduct the physical battle and expressed confidence that Kenya shall triumph.

Former PM Raila said this was a trying moment for the country but Kenya spirit was still strong to be attacked. He expressed his happiness at the spirit demonstrated by Kenyans and appealed to everybody to know that Kenya cannot cower at such terror incidents.

He asked the international community to desist from issuing travel advisories to their citizens saying that this will distract the normal ways of Kenyans. He stressed that the incident should be treated as an isolated case and the international community should work together to fight terrorism.

Former Deputy Prime Minister Musalia Mudavadi said that this was also a difficult time for the country and asked Kenyans to come together in such a time to support one another.

Uhuru also offered words of comfort and encouragement to those who suffered physical and psychological wounds asking them to take heart and that they were praying for them.-standardmedia.co.ke
