During the Mashujaa day, county governors led celebrations in their home counties, instead of joining the president in Nairobi.
Kiambu Governor William Kabogo marked the event at Kirigiti Stadium in Kiambu.
It is on this day that the public came face to face with the powers the governors wield. Kabogo for instance entered the stadium with quite a good number of dark suited bodyguards.
The setting was also ‘presidential’, from the red carpet to the neat dias to the Governor’s chair.
