Two security guards were yesterday charged in a Nairobi court with violent robbery. Paul Yungo and Daniel Nduru allegedly stole goods worth Sh500,000 from Caroline Mutoko on January 14 at Rosslyn Gardens Estate in Nairobi.
Armed with an AK47 rifle, pistols and crude weapons, they allegedly robbed Mutoko of an iPad, two Panasonic flat screen televisions, five wrist watches, a mobile phone and four assorted earrings. After the robbery, the two allegedly threatened to harm Mutoko.
The two were also charged with another count that on the same date and place while armed with dangerous weapons they robbed Christine Cherry khaendi two mobile phones valued at Sh6,000 and also threatened to use actual violence to her.
The court also heard that the accused failed to use all reasonable means to prevent the said robbery.
They denied the charges before the principal magistrate Daniel Ochenja and were released on a Cash bail of Sh500,000 and a surety of similar amount each.The case will be heard on March 12.
