At least four people have been killed and many other injured following two explosions at Gikomba market area in Nairobi, police have confirmed.
Kenya’s National Disaster Operations Centre indicated the first blast was from a 14-seater matatu, with the second blast occurring within Gikomba Market.
Kenya Red Cross said it had evacuated least 10 people from the scene to hospitals in the city.
President Uhuru Kenyatta, who was addressing the nation live at State House as the explosions went off, expressed sympathy with those injured in the incident as reports on the casualties started coming in
