A 25 year old Somali woman who was found with a Kenyan National Identity card has been charged with obtaining registration by false pretense.
Appearing before a Makadara Chief Magistrate Emily Ominde, Halima Abdow Osman denied the charges.
Halima was alleged that on February 11, 2008 at Central Moyale District, willfully procured herself a National identity card by pretending that she was a Kenyan Citizen.
According to police, on May 18 the Uslama watch operation meant to weed out illegal foreigners who were arrested by the police officers from various places within Nairobi found out the accused was in possession of fraudulently obtained documents.
The accused was arrested after she admitted that she was not a genuine Kenyan Citizen.
The chief magistrate however released her on a bond of Sh50,000 plus one Kenyan surety of similar amount.
The matter will be heard on August 22.
