On Saturday, National carrier Kenya Airways receivedย 5Y-KZB, its second Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft ย as it steps up efforts to expand and modernize its fleet.ย The aircraft landed at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi at 1245 hours, flown by Captain John Mathias Kimani.
This airlineโs new Dreamliner comes barely 3 months after it received its first.ย The Dreamliner is a modern aircraft with state-of-the-art aircraft features and consumes less fuel. It features the very latest in aerodynamics, design and advanced technologies,this highly efficient aircraft provide better fuel efficiency of up to 20 percent compared to other long-haul aircrafts.
Speaking after receiving the aircraft, Kenya Airwaysโ Chief Operating Officer Mbuvi Ngunze said that delivery of the second Dreamliner highlighted the airlineโs commitment to consistently improving the quality of its service to world class standards.
โWe are excited about the delivery of this second Dreamliner aircraft. It will only grow our long haul capability further,allowing us to commence direct flights between our Nairobi hub and South Africa, Johannesburg. In addition to this, the advanced features in this aircraft will also improve the quality of our product,โ Mbuvi added.
Kenya Airways expects four moreย Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircrafts by the end of the year.
