Yesterday, Nyeri Governor Nderitu Gachagua announced that he had fired his Culture, Gender and Social Development minister Cecilia Wangechi Ndung’u.
The announcement was made in a hurriedly convened press conference at his Nyeri Town office. He said the changes were driven by the need to enhance efficiency.
In typical Kenyan fashion, Gachagua did not feel the need of communicating the developments to the lady first. Ms Cecilia had the unfortunate experience of learning it from the media.
When reached for comments, a clueless Cecilia said this. “Ooh My God! What have I done to deserve this? I’m not aware I have been sacked.”
So unfortunate.
