Narc Kenya leader Martha Karua has given an MP 24 hours to revoke a statement linking her to buying off ICC witnesses or face legal action.
Karua asked Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria to apologise for claiming they procured witnesses to fix DP William Ruto at The Hague.
She reiterated that she will seek to substantiate the claims, tied to her tenure as Justice minister, through a local court and the ICC, should Kuria fail to apologise.
Noting that she would โgo for the owner of the dog that is barkingโ, Karua challenged DP William Ruto to table evidence against her.
She said during a press conference at Narc headquarters on Monday that Rutoโs lawyers mentioned her in the ICC case to tarnish her name.
Karua was with her lawyer Gitobu Imanyara, who said via Twitter on Sunday that she had asked him to refute the “baseless and malicious” allegations.
The Narc leader, who threatened to sue the MP, denied the claims saying she has never discussed the ICC with the MP.
Kuria made the allegations at a prayer rally for Ruto in Kapsokwony, Bungoma county on Sunday, saying he was part of a group that bought witnesses after the 2007-08 post-election violence.
โIt is time we all go to The hague to tell the judges the truth,โ he said, and urged Karua, Kisumu Senator Anyangโ Nyongโo and Cord leader Raila Odinga to follow suit.
