Students Organization of Nairobi University (SONU) Chairman Babu Owino has been arrested for alleged assault of university students.
Owino was arrested on Wednesday night and taken to Kilimani Police station where he was locked up for alleged assault.
The student leader will be arraigned in court on Thursday.

Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino has been arrested and is currently detained at Kilimani Police Station.
The arrest follows a shooting incident at B Club in Kilimani, Nairobi, where DJ Felix Orinda, also known as DJ Evolve, was shot and injured.
Witnesses reported that Owino had an altercation with DJ Evolve before the shooting occurred.
Owino reportedly transported the injured DJ to the hospital following the incident. The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) confirmed Owino’s arrest and stated that he is in lawful custody as investigations continue. ​
