Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen has seemingly poked holes on a decision to send homeย directors of the Presidential Strategic Communication Unit (PSCU).
In a post made after the announcement that PSCU had been disbanded, the Senator weighed in on the issue declaring his support for three of the dismissed Directors whom he described asย ‘true gentlemen’.
The senator questioned why the of Head of Public Communicationsย Munyori Buku, Chief of Messaging at the Presidencyย Eric Ngโeno, and Digital and Diaspora Communications Managerย Dennis Itumbi had been sent packing having stood by the President.
โWhile the others were busy making money in the corporate world, these men were in the trenches with Uhuru and Ruto,โ he stated.
The Senate Deputy Leader of Majority indicated that suspension of the three would have been orchestrated by individualsย with ill intention, calling it ‘a coup by the bad men against the good foot soldiers’.
Directors of PSCU were on Wednesday evening sent home with sources privy to the suspension revealingย that the President was concerned aboutย the leaking of uncertified information to the public as well as unstructured communication by the team.
According to aย statement issued by Deputy Chief of Staff Nzioka Waita,ย the PSCU team wouldย be restructured in the shortest time possible with an emphasis on more organized communication.
