VIDEO: Ruto ‘Frustrates’ Villagers Outside His Home
A section of villagers from Embu County was frustrated after flocking in hundreds outside the home of Deputy President (DP) William Ruto.
The residents arrived at Ruto’s Karen home on Friday morning hoping to meet him only to be told that Ruto was not aware of their visit.
According to the villagers, they wrote an appointment letter through their County Commissioner, Esther Maina, and were informed that they were scheduled to meet the DP on that day.
In large numbers, they boarded more than 23 matatus and buses and embarked on a journey to Nairobi’s Karen estate bracing the cold weather.
Commissioner Maina, who was the intermediary between the villagers and the Deputy President, reportedly went missing on the material day. They, however, resolved to continue with the trip hoping to spend some time with Ruto.
Upon arriving at Karen, the Embu dwellers converged outside the DP’s palatial home where they had a prayer session in preparation for the ‘big’ day.
They proceeded to the entrance of their host’s home and asked to see the DP claiming that they had already booked an appointment.
Reality dawned on them after being informed that their letter was never received, hence, they could not meet the DP. The disappointed lot was forced return home with some threatening to take action against the County official whom they claimed duped them.
The agenda of their meeting remains unknown.
