Nairobi Senator Mike Mbuvi Sonko has urged Cord co-principal and Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka to join Jubilee, claiming he does not stand a chance at getting nominated as the opposition’s presidential candidate.

Mr Sonko was speaking in Ruiru on Sunday evening during a political rally dubbed the “Ruiru Declaration” that was mainly meant to drum up support for Kiambu Governor William Kabogo’s re-election.

“Raila cannot endorse Kalonzo as Cord’s flag-bearer. It is inconceivable. I had stated my support for him in case he becomes the opposition’s flag-bearer but now it is obvious Raila cannot allow him,” said Sonko.

“For that reason, I’ll take it as my responsibility to invite him to the Jubilee party that has [the] tyranny of numbers.

“We must bring to an end the way politicians use Kamba leaders to support their opposition agenda,” added Sonko.

Senator Sonko said Jubilee’s tyranny of numbers gives Kalonzo the best ground to grow his political career.

UHURU DOES NOT DISCRIMINATE

He said Jubilee is also favourable because its presidential candidate Uhuru Kenyatta does not discriminate against people from different tribes, a fact that he said can be seen from the development being experienced in Ukambani and other regions.

“Our president has traversed all over the country without discrimination.

“His development agenda comprised of equipping hospitals with ultra-modern machines, providing Ukambani with water and many [other things] that were never seen even with former president Mwai Kibaki as well his late father Mzee Jomo Kenyatta,” said Mr Sonko.

He said Jubilee had restructured its party and will be the most suitable platform to enable Mr Musyoka get elected.

“Kalonzo should come and sit with the president and the deputy president for him to get enjoined into the party,” said Mr Sonko.
