One suspected robber was on Monday gunned down while three others escaped with bullet wounds after attempting to raid the home of 2013 Presidential aspirant Peter Kenneth‘s home.
The gang arrived at Kenneth’s house in Nyali, Mombasa County on a robbery mission and tried to sneak in while armed with crude weapons including knives and machetes.
The thugs are said to have raided the house expecting to find unarmed guards only for them to be ambushed by Administration Police officers guarding the home.
Confirming the incident, Mombasa county police commander Peterson Maelo affirmed that they were pursuing three suspects who fled with injuries.
He further told Baraka FM that they were collaborating with local hospitals to report any patients who turned up with gunshot wounds.
Attempts by Kenyans.co.ke to confirm whether Kenneth was present during the attack were futile as calls went unanswered.
Recently, the Presidential aspirant announced that he had quit his position as chairman of Kenya National Congress with reports indicating that he was set to join the Jubilee Party.
Kenneth indicated that he would be vying for the Governor’s seat either in Nairobi or Murang’a County.
