Death Announcement For Mama Esther Odundo Owuor

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing on of Mama Esther Odundo Owuor on November 19, 2016 at Nairobi Women’s Hospital after a long illness. She had been rendered paraplegic in a road accident in 1983 and had recently developed serious complications for which she traveled to India for treatment.

The late Mrs Owuor was at one time the Principal of Kisumu Girls High School and taught at various schools including Kenya High School, Mary Leakey Girls (Machakos Girls), Ngara Girls High School and Moi Nairobi Girls High School.

She was the widow of the late Yuda Odundo Owuor of Kisuwi Village, Kasigunga Location, Homa Bay County.

She was the daughter of the late Naftali Odongo and the late Penina Odongo of Kano Kogocho, Apondo Village Kisumu County.

Step daughter of Mama Teresa Odongo. Mother of Victor Owuor, Josephine Adhiambo, Letty Akinyi, Kim Odundo and Mark Opudo. Grandmother of Victor Junior, Tamara, Amos, Abby, Aaron, Elyja, Isaac, Joseph and Jeremy. Mother-in-law of Rosemary, Sylvia, Carolyne, Ezekiel and Timothy. Sister of Phoebe Ndege (deceased), Eng. Maxwell Otieno Odongo and Karen Ochieng. Step sister of Lorna Goga, Julia Odongo, Dorsilla Odongo, Washington Nyamwaya and Justus Liech. Sister in-law of Joel Rachuonyo, the late Tabia Amenya, Pastor Enock Oloo, the late Molly Ndege. She was in-law to the families of the late Amos Tago, Tom Wafula, Joseph Wephukhulu and McGuire.

Burial will take place on Friday December 16th 2016 at her home in Kisuwi Village, Mbita, Homa Bay County, beginning at 9:00am (Nairobi time)
