PHOTOS: Top KCPE performer Goldalyn Kakuya meets the President
President Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto Friday met and congratulated Goldalyn Kakuya for emerging the top candidate in this year’s Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) Examination.
Goldalyn, who sat for her KCPE at St Anne Junior School, Lubao, in Kakamega County scored 455 out of 500 marks.
The two leaders had a chat with the country’s top performer at State House Nairobi.
The President promised to support Goldalyn in all her endeavors
“Goldalyn has a very bright future and our Administration will ensure that she receives all the support she needs to fulfill her dreams” he said.
The social media platforms have been abuzz with congratulatory messages for her outstanding performance.
Her visit to State House comes a day after she was feted by the Albinism Society of Kenya in Lang’ata, Nairobi.
During a press briefing led by Nominated Senator Isacc Mwaura, the 2017 KCPE top performer was awarded Ksh.100,0000 for her exemplary performance.
Harrison Otanga, her father, could not hide his joy as he addressed the press regarding his daughter who made him proud.
According to him, Goldalyn has always been a bright and hardworking girl who always topped her class.
“I want to encourage everybody that has any form of impairment to accept the way they are so you can be excellent. I have other children who have melanin just like me although they also perform well, but not as excellent as my daughter” said Mr. Otanga.
