Abonyo and his mum knelt in prayer and later Laboso sought treatment at the Nairobi Hospital.

A combination of radiotherapy and chemotherapy made Laboso develop a number of complications but she remained steadfast in her duties.

According to Abonyo, his wife never liked drama and this was one of the reasons why she never wanted her children to worry too much about her health.

Even in difficult moments when she was in pain, Laboso would dress up well and discharge her duties as the governor of Bomet.

Her selfless nature was also admirable and her husband revealed that she never judged people based on race, tribe or nationality.

Abonyo singled out President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto for their unwavering support when Laboso was unwell.

He revealed that the Head of State often called him to ask about Laboso’s health and Ruto was always available to encourage them when things were not going so well.

Abonyo was thankful to God for giving him the chance to do life with Laboso and expressed his gratitude to the people of Bomet for choosing her as their governor.
