Kenyan man Geoffrey Chepkwony found dead in Houston,Texas

A Kenyan  man identified as Geoffrey Chepkwony  was found dead on Saturday in the bayou at 49 San Jacinto Street Houston, Texas.

Geoffrey was a young man from Bomet (Bomet Central) from single mother and came to the US on green card.

According to his former roommate Sam Makaya, Chepkwony was suffering from mental problems and was on medications on and off.

Sam Mayaka said that he saw Geoffrey last on August 26th but on September 1st 2020, he received a call from the medical examiner’s office after running fingerprints in database,he was listed as a point of contact.

According to the Houston Police Department, witnesses reported seeing a body in Buffalo Bayou near a bridge at the above address.  The HPD Dive Team responded to the scene to recover the body.  There were no signs of trauma found on the male and he had no identification in his possession.

The medical examiners office wanted to know from Sam if there are any plans to collect the body otherwise if not collected they will dispose it.They have promised to hold the body for a few days before they dispose it.The family in Kenya has been notified about the death
