Nyakach Member of Parliament Pollyins Ochieng Anyango has sued former advisor to the Prime Minister, Raila Odinga.
Anyango claims that Miguna Miguna allegedly defamed him in his book ‘Peeling back the Mask’, a quest for Justice in Kenya.
He has also sued the book’s publisher Gilgamesh and Nation Media Group.
Through his advocate, Mr Anthony Oluoch, the MP claims that the words used in the book against him were used to portray him as an unworthy, a person of no integrity and also inadequate intellectually.
He argues that as a result of the publication, his reputation“has been brought to public scandal and contempt.”
Further claiming that the serialisation by Sunday Nation newspaper caused him injury.
Consequently, he is seeking court orders to stop any comments on the book.
He contends that he plans to seek re-election for his seat in the forthcoming General Election and if the court fails to intervene he will suffer.
The matter came up on Wesdnesday before High Court Judge, Justice Mary Ang’awa, it emerged that the MP had not been able to serve Miguna and his publisher with the suit papers.
He requested the Judge to allow him to file by way of advertisement in the newspaper, an application that was allowed.
The case comes up on October 4 when the court will establish if he managed to serve the suit papers by way of advertisement.
