A wedding ceremony at Kiamwathi PCEA Church in Nyeri town was almost called off at the last minute as drama unfolded when a woman stormed the church, seeking to stop the ceremony on grounds that the groom was her matrimonial husband. Polly Njeri claims to have been married to Joseph Nderitu who was the groom at the wedding, and that the two had sired three children. It took the intervention of several strong men to restrain the woman, as the bride and groom finally exchanged their marriage vows.
Ten Members of Parliament allied to Eldoret North William Rutoโs party United Republican Party (URP) have threatened to walk out ofย the party if he joins Orange Democratic Movement.
Led by Cheranganyi MP Joshua Kuttuny, theย MPs dared their party leader to make a slight move,ย saying their will join Uhuruโs party The National Alliance (TNA) if he forms aย pre- election pact with Prime Minister ย Raila Odinga.
The MPs said Ruto will be a traitor of the Kalenjin community if he returns to the Orange Party.
They said they will make a major announcement soon, if Ruto does not apologise to the community for meeting Raila Odinga secretly without their consent.
Other MPs who expressed disappointment with Rutoโs move are Zachary Cheruiyot (Kuresoi), Moses Lessonet (Eldama Ravine), Charles Keter (Belgut) and Eldoret South lawmaker Peris Simam.
