Friday October 19, 2012 – Juja MP William Kabogo has told Kiambu residents that he is filthy rich and he cannot steal from them if they elect him the Governor of Kiambu County.
Speaking at a meeting in Limuru town on Thursday, the Juja lawmaker said the governor’s seat needs a wealthy man like himself because he will not be tempted to steal from the county’s coffers.
In what might be seen as an attack to his competitor James Nyoro, Kabogo said the Governor’s position is well stipulated in the constitution and if one is said to have a great CV he should look for a job in newspaper advertisements.
Kabogo accused Nyoro of being fronted by Kiambu professionals and some TNA top guns to beat him during the nominations.
“We have a problem in Kiambu. There are some people who are plotting to give this seat to someone they are referring to as special. Others are saying this seat has to go to so and so, but TNA party leader Uhuru Kenyatta is categorical that nominations should be free and fair,” Kabogo said.
