First Lady Margaret Kenyatta yesterday held talks with Mrs Deloris Jordan, mother of Basketball legend Michael Jordan, at State House Nairobi.
The two discussed a proposal the foundation to put up a children and women hospital in Nairobi.

First Lady Margaret Kenyatta met Deloris Jordan, the mother of basketball legend Michael Jordan, in June 2013 at State House Nairobi. During this meeting, they discussed a proposal by Deloris Jordan’s foundation to establish a children’s and women’s hospital in Nairobi.
Deloris Jordan has been actively involved in philanthropic efforts in Kenya, particularly focusing on the well-being of women and children.
In March 2025, she opened Kenya’s largest gender-based violence (GBV) recovery center in Narok through the Kenya Women and Children’s Wellness Centre (KWCWC).
The center, funded by the James R. Jordan Foundation International, offers comprehensive services including medical care, legal support, vocational training, and mental health services for survivors of GBV.
Her ongoing work in Kenya reflects a long-standing commitment to supporting vulnerable communities and aligns with her previous engagements in the country.
