Too much pressure results to resistance. In my earlier days in school, I learnt that when pressure is applied to a limited amount of space in a container, the air or liquid inside must find a way out. When the pressure is in small bits, the force by which the liquid or air is let out is equally low but when the pressure is too high, the force is bound to be massive.
The same applies to people. When dealing with people, be it your family, friends, employees or coworkers, we should understand that pressure could be used for a good cause but if you are not careful, it can as well create repulsion and can even become destructive. Motivating one to do something at a faster pace is necessary but we must be careful not to mistake positive motivation with unnecessary pressure. Too much pressure often creates resistance. Resistance always works against motivation and this in turn results to poor performance.
1 Thessalonians 5:14:And we urge you, brothers, admonish the idle, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with them all….
