The Cabinet has reversed the recent increase in the cost of electricity connections from Sh70,000 down to Sh35,000.
“To enable wananchi continue connecting to power, Cabinet instructed the Ministry of Energy to revert to Sh35,000 charged before for connecting electricity, this should be done immediately,” a brief from State House said.
The statement also noted that the Cabinet approved the issuance of 60,000 title deeds at the Coast by end of August.
The government has also sought to ensure a smooth roll out of the laptop for schools programme in January by approving the setting up of laptops implementation in primary schools.
Other issues resolved in the Cabinet meeting include the setting up of a national secretariat for Kenya at 50 celebrations. The Committee will plan the celebrations to mark 50 years since the independence in 1963.
