Kenyan ambassador to speak at BGSU event in Ohio

Jean Njeri Kamau, Kenya’s ambassador to the United States, will speak Thursday at Bowling Green State University before attending the sixth annual Kenyan Scholars and Studies Association conference at BGSU the following two days, the university announced.

Ms. Kamau’s talk will be part of the first public forum in a new series at Bowling Green called Global Engagement, designed to bring foreign ambassadors to campus to expand students’ educational and career horizons. She will speak from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. in 206 Bowen-Thompson Student Union, with a question period and a reception after her remarks. Admission is free.

Sessions will run from 8 to 5 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Also speaking will be Charles Nyachae, chairman of the Commission for the Implementation of the (Kenyan) Constitution, and George Imbanga Godia, immediate past permanent secretary of the Kenyan Ministry of Education.
