President Uhuru Kenyatta has said that he and Ruto cannot be in the ICC trials at the same time.
The President was speaking at a rally in Kiambu where he addressed concerns about him and Ruto being away at the same time and creating a power vacuum.
He was speaking just hour before the Deputy President is scheduled to leave for the Hague for hs tral which begins on September 10th. He said that Kenya is a sovereign nation that is governed by a Constitution.
โKenya is a sovereign nation and has a constitution. While we are willing to cooperate with the ICC, we will not shirk our responsibility to Kenyans,โ he said.
He said that he will be in the country when Ruto goes to the Hague and Vice versa.
ICCโs tentative schedule placed both Uhuru and Ruto in The Hague at the same time. The trials run between November 12 and December 13.-nation.co.ke
