“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future “(Jeremiah 29:11)
After 70 years in captivity are completed the Lord through prophet Jeremiah tells the children of Israel that he knew the thoughts he had for them. During these long years of captivity they wereย beingheld,ย imprisoned,ย enslaved andย confined.ย It could have been easy for them to doubt the promise of God over their lives. God reminds them about his thoughts and plan over their lives. He says they are plans ofย peace, and not of evil, to give them an expected end. God delivers them out of Babylon and brings them back to their expected place. Reading this you might wonder what this scripture has got to do with your struggle today. As you read this, I want to encourage you that your pain has an expiration date; it has a time line assigned to it. It has season that it must end, and that day shall come to pass because of God’s thoughts towards you.
For 70 years they lived in slavery with a hope of being free after the appointed time. God’s appointed time over your life cannot be frustrated by any demonic or natural occurrences. The events of our lives can carry us into captivity, this could be through our poor choices or choices made by others on our behalf; the source of captivity does not matter because the pain of it, is the same. In our captivity Life seems to carry a weight that seems heavier than our capacity to carry, heavier than our academic knowledge heavier than our conventional wisdom. In this place of captivity, we get discouraged, we build walls of self defense; we guard ourselves and protect ourselves against any future hurt. But our own efforts in trying to do this are not enough without the involvement of the Lord Jesus Christ. He alone can deliver us from any form of captivity; he alone can lead us to the expected place. Do you feel like a slave of your circumstances today? Let the hope of his appointed time fro your freedom keep you, you will come out mature and ready for what the Lord has for you.
The thoughts of God towards you this week are great; his thoughts of love, peace and protection over your life and your loved ones cannot be defeated. Trust the Lord in your captivity, depend on him.He says in his wordย “Trust in theย Lordย with all your heart,ย and lean not on your own understanding;ย in all your ways submit to him,ย and he will make your paths straight”ย Proverbs3:5-6″.ย So do not hurry out or doubt God,ย becauseย when yourย set time is over, the will bring youย out he will visit you and fulfill his good word to you, once he brings you out, he will bring you into a set prophetic place where you will call upon him in prayer and he will answer you . Allow him to walk you through this week.
