More drama unfolds as the Miss Tourism from Kilifi county, Catherine Mage decides to take the battle to court. Catherine did not even have time to enjoy her crown as she was dethroned almost immediately after being crowned following a public outcry that she wasn’t fit for the crown. This is according to Standard Digital News Pulse magazine which reports that Catherine Mage has now moved to court to defend her title.
The beauty queen is suing the event organisers citing psychological disturbance, time wasted out of school and financial drain on her part — in the run for the Kilifi County event and after her crowning, Pulse reports.
Catherine was decrowned after controversy rose among the public who claimed that the beauty queen does not hail from the region and was therefore not suited to be the crown holder. She however insists that she was raised in Kikambala, which is in Kilifi and therefore was wrongly stripped of the title. As the heat in Kilifi keeps rising, other counties are also being pressured to do a repeat of the beauty auditions after claims of unfairness and alleged malpractises.-niaje.com
