Water Cabinet Secretary Judy Wakhungu has been appointed a member of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation Scientific Advisory Board by UN secretary general Ban Ki-Moon.

The central function of the Board is to provide advice on science, technology and innovation for sustainable development. In a press release yesterday, Wakhungu said: “This is a great honour bestowed upon me, the Ministry and the Government of Kenya”.

Some of the key objectives will be to strengthen the linkage between science and policy.
