Police summon Rachael Shebesh over alleged guard assault

Police have summoned Nairobi Women’s Representative Rachael Shebesh over claims by a guard that she assaulted him.

Kileleshwa deputy OCS Stephen Mwachia wrote to Shebesh asking her to report to the station to enhance investigations into the allegations.

Mwachia said that Shebesh aiding with the investigation would facilitate closing of the file which is to be sent to the DPP for further action. The move follows a complaint by Kazungu Changawa that Shebesh slapped him on July 17, last year at Orchid Apartments.

Changawa wrote to the DPP complaining police had failed to take action on Shebesh despite him proving she assaulted him. Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero and Shebesh are facing criminal charges of assault and public disturbance respectively.
