Former Speaker of the National Assembly Kenneth Marende has been ordered to pay child support.
Principal Magistrate Faith Kanyi Munyi ordered that Mr Marende should pay Sh103,000 as school fees for the woman’s three-year-old daughter.
“The request that Mr Marende pays the minor’s school fees and related expenses as per the school fees structure is granted,” ordered Ms Munyi.
In a suit filed on January 28, the girl’s mother seeks Sh457,000 as costs for bringing up the child besides legal custody.
She said Mr Marende had been taking care of her and the child until November last year when he abruptly stopped.
