Four-time Grammy Award winning artist Yolanda Adams will headline an event that is expected to boost ties between Eleanor Roosevelt High School in Greenbelt, MD and Marmanet Secondary School in Laikipia.
Eleanor Roosevelt hopes to expand its cultural exchange program with the Kenyan school.
The concert at the University of Maryland is organised by a non-profit organisation called A Very Taylored Foundation (AVTF).

The target is youth who have experienced neglect and defeat. AVTF believes that education is a catalyst that promotes self-sufficiency and aspirations of being successful within individuals.-nation.co.ke
Funds raised will help Eleanor Roosevelt High School students and AVTF purchase tables and chairs, build an additional bathroom and provide scholarship opportunities for the students.

Yolanda’s accolades include thee Dove Awards, four Grammy Awards, seven NAACP Image Awards, 16 Stellar Awards, four Soul Train Lady of Soul Awards, four BET Best Gospel Awards, and the first ever American Music Award for Contemporary/Inspirational Artist.
As of 2009, she had sold over 8 million albums worldwide. Perhaps her most crowning achievement was being named Billboard’s #1 Gospel Artist of the Decade in December 2009.
The concert will have two shows at 3pm & 7pm, respectively.
