Petition Challenging Moses Kuria’s Election Filed

An election petition challenging the election of Gatundu South Mp Moses Kuria was filed today , Tuesday at the high court.

Patrick Michuki, a voter from Gatundu south filed the case arguing that the rights of area residents felt their rights were violated after the IEBC declared Kuria the area MP unopposed.

Michuki now wants the court to declare the Gatundu south seat vacant since there was no election after Kuria’s sole opponent Joachim Kamere stepped down from the race.

High court judge Justice George Odunga has now directed Michuki to serve the respondents.

The case will be heard on 30th September 2014.
