Khaniri calls for Mudavadi-Raila unity ahead of 2017 elections
Vihiga Senator George Khaniri has called for a Musalia Mudavadi and Raila Odinga unity pact ahead of the 2017 General Election, saying the differences between the two leaders cost them the presidency in the last General Election.
Khaniri, who was speaking at Chamakanga Friends Church in Sabatia sub-county where he led a fund raising in aid of Tusaidiane self-help group yesterday, said he would run for the presidency in 2022 in the event that the two leaders fail to agree and neither of them ascends to the presidency in the 2017 elections.
He dismissed the ban on fund raisers by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission as inconsequential, saying Constitution provided for a moratorium on harambees 8 months before an election.
